Camps were held every year from 1914, in war as well as in peace. 

They include Camps in Switzerland, Germany and in Denmark with friends of FDF/FPF the Danish equivalent of Boys' Brigade.

Between 1926 and 1946 the 1st A held joint camps with the 1st Epsom, founded in 1919 as a Boys Life Brigade Company by a well known solicitor in Epsom, Betram E White (LEFT), .  His son Eric White (RIGHT), who became captain in 1934, was a barrister who went to Pembroke College, Oxford where Donald Finnemore  also studied law.

From 1977 The 1st A Birmingham Boys' Brigade held joint camps with the 14th Birmingham Girls' Brigade.                     Below Horton camp 1978
