In Memoriam
David Piearce
1928 - 2000
Company Captain
1961 - 2000

DAVID PIEARCE spent his life serving God through the Boys' Brigade.
David went through the ranks of the 1st A Birmingham Company
and after two years national service in Singapore returned to be an Officer.
In 1961 he became Company Captain, but he did more than just run a company,
he made it important to the boys and young men who joined
and made sure they heard the good news about Jesus Christ.
David always gave more and he challenged young people to give more too.
Many have had their lives influenced by his dynamic leadership and example.
David was also an Elder of the People's Chapel,
and played a major role in the ministry of a church that traditionally relied on its lay leadership.
He was a Trustee of Birmingham Battalion,
had several terms of office as a Vice President and chaired the finance committee.
From 1976 he was Commandant of the North West Division of the Battalion.
The Company, Division, Battalion and Church miss his influence, leadership and dedication.
